Summary:

Sweetser is searching for an experienced accounting professional to join the dynamic finance team! Sweetser is one of Maine's largest and most comprehensive nonprofit organizations. As an Accountant II, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside the management team to provide accounting data, and preparing reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**

• Review and management of Income and Expense accounts.
• Prepare and maintain a Daily Cash Flow report for CFO.
• Prepare weekly payroll integration
• Manage and maintain Fixed Asset workpapers and prepare any necessary journal entries to keep accounts updated in the system around the basis and depreciation.
• Reconcile bank accounts and workpapers for supporting schedules.
• Timely month end close process, including preparation of necessary journal entries.
• Additional reconciliations and other work papers necessary for the completion of the monthly close process.
• Monthly filing and remitting of required tax obligations
• Assists in the preparation of annual audit materials.
• Preparation and filing of monthly financial reporting required by State Contracting Process.
• Participates in preparation of annual operating budget, as deemed appropriate by Director of Finance.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree with major in business related field of study; accounting degree preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
• Valid state driver's license.

EXPERIENCE:
• Three (3) to Five (5) years of accounting experience.
• Ability to maintain financial security by following internal controls.
• Ability to maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
